I was excited and resolute on attending the Jameson party this year after Tinie Tempah was announced as the headliner.
After my last concert experience (waiting till 3am for the headliner, nah) we walked in at around midnight. Luckily I got a chance to catch Khaligraph’s explosive performance of “Julius Yego”. A-MAZE! His energy, flow and stage presence is special.
WESTWOOD! The veteran DJ did what he is famed for doing – hyped the crowd before the headlining act. He got people moving with his seamless mix of old school and new school hip hop jams. It was every hip hop fans delight as he spun his decks and got the crowd moving.
TINIE did not disappoint. He has energy for dayssss (you get me). He sounded just as he does on his records. The stage, lighting and sound complemented the performance. Only flaw was the onscreen visuals, those let him down. Pyrotechnics! On another level – fire, confetti, “you name it!”
Never having been to a Jameson concert, I was so impressed and felt that I got my money’s worth…there seemed to be many kids but maybe I’m just getting older. Btw – if anyone knows where the VIP section was (I didn’t see it), they must’ve had a shitty view for Kshs5000. Next time, pay less and get more. :p
Reason for not posting sooner – just been a little uninspired lately. For those of you who didn’t make it, here’s a clip: Tinie Tempah in Kenya
